Grant Writer

JOB TYPE: Contract (with possibility to evolve into full-time, salaried position); Remote Work-from-Home. 

 

DAYS AND HOURS: Monday – Friday; 20-30 Hours Weekly (Occasional nights/weekends to meet deadlines). 

 

REPORTS TO: Directly to Chief Executive Officer.

 

JOB OVERVIEW: Dedicated and experienced Grant Writer to write grant proposals for nonprofit clientele. Grant Writer will be responsible researching, writing, and coordinating grant application process; management of proposals; client management; grant prospect research; and other writing projects as assigned. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents. 

  • Responsible for researching, collecting data, and writing of each grant application. 

  • Manage proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.

  • Coordinate and follow-up on progress of submitted proposals.

  • Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate, and solicit new grants for clients.

  • Develop relationships and collaborate with clients.

  • Manage and maintain all written works in JNPC’s cloud-based server.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in research and grant writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals.

  • Clear, precise, and compelling writing skills.

  • Motivated self-starter with ability to work independently with accuracy in deadline-driven environment. 

  • Strong people skills with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and Adobe Acrobat DC.

  • Must be based in and authorized to work in the U.S.

 

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skilled in Private-, State-, and Federal-level grant writing. 

  • Nonprofit work experience a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Safe, secure, and high-speed internet.

  • Computer/laptop with Windows 10 operating system, 8GB of RAM (preferably 16GB if an option), and current antivirus.

  • Webcam/Mic for virtual meetings.

  • Printer/scanner combination.

  • Phone (mobile phones are permitted).

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Adobe Acrobat DC to compile and edit PDFs.

 

SALARY/INCOME: Hourly position with competitive pay.
