Services: Grant Writing

What is Grant Writing?

Grant Writing is our jam!

After our in-depth research, we present you with a customized grantmaker report that includes a detailed list of the grantmakers most aligned with your mission. The information entails the grantmaker name; contact information; staff and board; website; and a snapshot of their most recent awards including the grantee and award size. Additionally, our team will create a schedule outlining the targeted times to develop and submit each grant application with the suggested request amount. From there, we will begin developing your applications. JNPC gives you oversight through the entire process by presenting you with both an 80% draft and a 100% draft so that your leadership can rest assured that each funder is receiving the most accurate information about your needs.

Getting Started

It all starts with learning about your organization and its financial needs through a complimentary one-hour consultation. Our consultations allow us to learn about your nonprofit and any programs or projects that may benefit from grant funding.

Additionally, during this consultation, we will discuss the full scope of your need, our ability to assist you, and our fee for services. We encourage candid dialog about your organization's budget for grant writing services. Our priority is to be clear and direct with you when it comes to the number of hours needed to complete the work, as well as the cost and billing.

Receiving Your Quote

After your consultation, we will provide you with a quote or proposal for services for your review. Once you have accepted the quote or proposal, which is signified with your authorized representative’s signature, we will provide a contract of services for review and signatures. Upon completion of these steps, we are ready to supply services.

Assessing Your Nonprofit’s Needs

Once our formalized partnership begins, our team will conduct an organizational needs assessment centered around grant fund development. We will schedule a time to meet in-person (or virtually) with your nonprofit’s leadership team including department heads. It is our opportunity to dig much deeper and learn about your organization and your current needs directly from you. We want to know about your operations, staffing, structure, and board (including their commitment to your organization). We invite you to describe your programs and projects to us that are in need of funding.

We also want to know about your organization’s current financial standing, operating budget, and revenue sources. Additionally, we will ask what led your organization’s desire for grant writing services. We will need to know if there have been previous efforts in grant writing and if so, what were the outcomes.

Working Together

Our intention is to become a part of your team. We never want there to be any surprises, so we provide bi-weekly progress reports to you. These reports inform you about project progress, adjustments, and challenges, and allows you to communicate any updates to us. During our partnership, we encourage an open line of communication and invite you to call or email us with any questions or concerns you may have about your project.

We look forward to partnering with you.

After all, nonprofits are our jam!
